Pneumatic Calipers and Modular Solutions

Pneumatic calipers and modular solutions are compact, easy-to-install industrial brakes that can be combined to achieve a modular braking torque. They are designed with a single mounting bracket or to accommodate multiple braking units. Made of aluminum, they are lightweight and high-performance. Ideal for continuous braking applications, such as tensioning cables and materials wound on spools and reels. The S-MAC and SB versions ensure self-centering of the disc thanks to the mounting bracket with floating technology.

Small multi-disc unit

Small multi-disc brakes and clutches are compact solutions capable of generating high rated torque values. Their main feature is ease of installation and maintenance. The product is supplied with a toothed hub, featuring either a standard center bore or one machined to customer specifications. A pneumatic thrust system, equipped with a seal, generates pressure between the internal discs, producing a proportional torque transmitted to the central hub. The product’s outer bell is mounted integral with the machine in the case of the brake, or connected to a pulley in the case of the clutch, with the aim of transmitting a high torque in the first case or speed between two parallel shafts in the second.

Coremo pneumatic brakes are highly customisable with specific friction materials, status sensors, special painting and treatments, thruster positioning, wear regulator, and many other features.

Coremo manual thruster caliper brakes are the ideal solution for industrial applications requiring precise and reliable manual control of braking. Designed to guarantee high performance, these brakes enable the operator to manage braking directly.

Hydraulic brakes

Hydraulic brakes are designed to provide a simple, fast solution to the safety requirements of a wide range of industrial applications. Generally used in very tough environments, they have been designed by Coremo to adapt to many different configurations and provide a high degree of customisation.

Mono-actuated pneumatic brakes

Coremo mono-actuated pneumatic brakes are designed for industrial applications in which compact size and precision braking are fundamental requirements. Given that ‘actuation” is on just one side of the brake disc, the entire braking system becomes extremely compact. The operating principle is simple and effective. Brake thrust is proportional to inlet pressure.

Fan-cooled brakes

Coremo "Modulo" pneumatic brakes are designed for continuous braking applications, such as pay-off stands. Equipped with Kevlar pads and electric fan (24VDC, 24Vac, 110Vac or 220Vac) as standard, "Modulo" brakes are ideal where high heat dispersal and torque proportionality are critical requirements.

Air Tube Design Brakes and Clutches

Coremo air tube design brakes and clutches are ideal solutions for transmitting high torques at low speeds. The air supplied to the inner tube moves and compresses the friction discs and steel discs, which travel internally on the housing and the toothed hub.

Water-cooled Brakes and Clutches

Water-cooled multidisc brakes and clutches are ideal for transmitting high torques with high heat dispersal, typically in particularly heavy-duty, high-speed applications. The multidisc system is pneumatically actuated with an internal air tube.

Double Ventilated Disc Brakes

Coremo's double ventilated disc series brake are designed for industrial applications with continuous braking (tensioning), where torque stability and heat dispersal are critical essentials. The internal pneumatic calipers with diaphragm actuation offer maximum sensitivity to even the smallest pressure variations.

Hydraulic Power Packs

Coremo's hydraulic power packs are designed in-house to ensure maximum effectiveness in the actuation of all hydraulic brakes (oil-applied, spring-applied, caliper and direct thruster). Organized in two categories, "P" for oil-applied and "N" for spring-applied hydraulic brakes, they offer international components and hand pump as standard.

Cast iron and steel discs

Coremo discs are designed to provide the ideal characteristics (geometrical form, material type, surface finish and hardness, mechanical strength and thermal capacity) to guarantee that the brakes installed provide optimal performance and ensure systems' safety.

Transmission Couplings

Coremo's transmission couplings are designed to absorb torsional shock and vibration and compensate for linear and angular misalignment between two mechanical shafts. As well as providing a durable mechanical connection between driving and driven shafts, Coremo's transmission couplings ensure freedom of movement (expansion) and safe power transmission.
